Weight Loss & Lifestyle Coaching
Lose weight the sustainable way—with movement, nutrition, habits and real accountability, in North Bay or online across Canada and the USA.
Weight loss coaching with NU-U Health & Fitness is about far more than a number on the scale—it is a guided, sustainable path to feeling stronger, lighter and more energized in your own body. Working one-on-one with Elena Tonietto, you get a whole-person program that brings together movement, balanced nutrition, everyday habits and steady accountability, available in person in North Bay and the Nipissing District or online across Canada and the USA.
Most quick-fix diets fail for the same reason: they are built to be dropped. This program takes the opposite approach. Instead of cutting food groups or chasing a crash, you learn to eat well, move consistently and rebuild the small daily routines that quietly shape your weight over time. It is coaching designed for real, busy Canadian lives—through long winters, shift work and family schedules included.
Elena brings 20+ years as a fitness professional, Certified Nutrition Coach training and a specialty in healthy aging to every plan. Whether you are looking to lose your first ten pounds, get moving again after years away, or finally break the yo-yo cycle for good, you get a program shaped around your body, your history and your goals—never a one-size-fits-all template.

Who Weight Loss & Lifestyle Coaching Is For
This program is built for people who are done with the diet rollercoaster and ready for something that lasts. You might be carrying weight that crept on over the years, feeling low on energy, or frustrated that the plans that once worked no longer do. You might be starting over after an injury, a busy season of life, or a long Ontario winter on the couch.
It’s an especially good fit if you want more than a meal plan—if you want to actually change how you move, eat and live. Because it pairs naturally with nutrition coaching and habit and accountability coaching, you get the full picture rather than one piece in isolation. And if you’re navigating midlife shifts or hormonal changes, coaching can be tailored around healthy aging and women’s wellness so your plan works with your body, not against it.
What a Sustainable, Non-Crash Approach Looks Like
Crash diets promise fast numbers and deliver rebound weight—because they ignore how bodies and habits actually work. Here, we take the long view. You’ll build a way of eating and moving you can keep after the program ends, so the weight you lose is far more likely to stay lost.
Movement is a core pillar, not an afterthought. Rather than punishing cardio, we lean on progressive personal training and functional strength and mobility so you build lean muscle, protect your joints and boost the everyday energy that makes healthy choices easier. On the nutrition side, the focus is whole foods, protein, portions and consistency—no gimmicks. Elena's Approach: Coaching, Not Dieting
Elena Tonietto has spent 20+ years as a fitness professional—an instructor since 2004, personal trainer since 2006, Pilates instructor and Certified Nutrition Coach (Food Matters Institute) with a specialty in healthy aging and older-adult fitness. As the founder of NU-U Health & Fitness since 2008 and an active trail racer and triathlete, she coaches from lived experience, not theory.
Her role is to be your guide and your accountability partner—translating what works into a plan that fits your real week, and adjusting it as your life and progress change. Coaching is education and general wellness support, not medical treatment, and Elena will always encourage you to consult your physician before starting a new exercise or nutrition program. The goal is simple: help you move well, feel strong, and reach a weight you can live at comfortably—for good.

Frequently asked questions
How much does weight loss coaching cost?
Coaching is program-based and priced in CAD (USD available for U.S. online clients), because a short kickstart and long-term monthly support are very different commitments. The best first step is a free 20–30 minute intro call, where we map your goals and I recommend the right program and price for you.
Is coaching in person or online?
Both. You can train and meet with me in person in North Bay and the Nipissing District, or work together entirely online across Canada and the USA by video call and messaging. Many clients blend the two.
I haven't exercised in years—is this right for me?
Absolutely. Beginners and comebacks are welcome and common. We start where you are, build gradually, and focus on consistency over intensity. If you're brand new, easing in with beginner-friendly movement and simple habit changes is exactly the point.
Do I have to follow a strict diet?
No. This is a sustainable, non-crash approach—no banned foods, no starvation, no all-or-nothing rules. You'll learn to eat well in a way that fits your real life, so the results actually last.
What should I expect and bring?
Expect honest conversation, a plan you can follow, and steady accountability. For in-person sessions, bring comfortable clothes, supportive shoes and water. For online, you just need a device and a little space to move. Please check with your physician before starting any new exercise or nutrition program.
What's your cancellation policy?
Life happens. I ask for reasonable notice to reschedule a session, and program details are confirmed on your intro call so everything is clear before you commit.
